This piece is painted from a reference photo I took

in an antique shop in Málaga, called Casa del

Cardenal. I have a complicated relationship with

Spain. After my dad passed away while living

there, I was very hesitant to return. However, over

the past few years, I’ve been slowly rekindling my

love for the country. I created this painting to

celebrate its history and beauty — a way of

honoring the place beyond my personal grief.
